Krishnagiri Tourism
The district was earlier known as Ariyalur District. One of the most industrialized places in India, Hosur, is located in this district. Mango is cultivated as the main crop and its considered as the birth place for Mangoes. The major crop of Krishnagiri district with 300.17 km² of cultivation is mango. Government Museum, set up in 1993 situated on Gandhi Salai in Krishnagiri. The museum houses exhibits from various subjects such as Archeology, Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Geography, etc. It is not only a place of tourism but also a center of education. This museum collects the monuments, Classifies and preserves them to conduct research on it's historical worthiness.The museum is open on all days from 9:30 to 17:00 hrs except Fridays, second Saturdays and national holidays.
